The other day, Phoebe was watching a TV programme called Kitchen Nightmares, starring sweary chef Gordon Ramsey.
Now, inevitably, she has shocked Emily by using Chef Ramsey's favourite Anglo-Saxon epithet.
"Phoebe, don't say that word! Say..." she pauses while her computer-like memory scans every episode of Friends for an inoffensive alternative "... darn instead!"

Your daughters watch 'Friends'???
OMG I adore that show!!! I'm a HUGE fan, I keep playing the DVDs on repeat all day long, and I know everything by heart! You guys are amazing!

Oh yes, thanks to Star Channel (and a few series we have on video and DVD), Friends is a big part of Emily's life (Phoebe isn't so into it - yet). I gave up watching after about the third round of repeats (when was that - about 2006?) but Emily can't get enough of it. She even learnt how to work the video recorder just so she can record Friends if she's going to be out!
