Tough on mess. Tough on the causes of mess.
The girls have been warned. Anything not tidied away by 3.00 each day will be swept up into a large black plastic bin liner and put in the attic. They are, even as I type, "tidying"*.
*i.e. making plastic swords out of lego and stabbing one another.

Hmmm..........seem to remeber the girls' room being tidier that a certain person's office. The words pot, kettle and black spring to mind :-)
Office? What office?
Oh, you mean the girls' playroom! Any mess in there is entirely their own responsibility.
And if they will go leaving their half-finished translations lying around, they only have themselves to blame ;-)
